SIMKL allows members to share their **thoughts, opinions, and experiences** on movies, TV shows, and anime through **written reviews**. These reviews help other users discover new content, compare opinions, and engage in discussions with fellow fans.

Whether you **loved, disliked, or felt neutral** about a title, writing a review is a great way to expressing your thoughts, analyzing the story, characters, visuals, and engaging with the SIMKL community.

### **What Are Reviews on SIMKL?**

Reviews on SIMKL are **user-generated opinions** about TV shows, anime, and movies. Each review helps provide **insights, recommendations, and personal reflections** on a title, allowing other users to make informed choices.

### **How to Write a Review on SIMKL?**

Writing a review on SIMKL isn’t just about rating a show or movie, it’s about **sharing your perspective** and helping others decide what to watch. Whether you’re a **movie enthusiast, anime lover, or TV show binge-watcher**, your reviews contribute to a growing community of entertainment fans.

With SIMKL, you can write **detailed and structured reviews** that go beyond simple star ratings.

#### **Steps to Post a Review:**

* **Go to the Title’s Page**
  * Search for the movie, TV show, or anime you want to review.
  * Click on its **title** to open the main page.

* **Scroll Down to the** "Reactions & Reviews" Section
  * Below the **ratings and summary**, you’ll find the **"Write a Review"** section.

  * This will **open a new review creation page.**
  * A **review editor box** will open.

  * The **minimum length** for reviews is **5 lines**.
  * The **recommended length** is **200–500 words**.

  * Avoid **one-word or very short reviews** as they may be rejected.

  SIMKL’s review system allows you to **rate different aspects of the title separately**:\

* **Enhance Your Review (Optional)**
  * Add **YouTube video links**, **GIFs**, or **tweets** to make your review more engaging.

## **Review Guidelines on SIMKL**

To maintain **quality discussions**, SIMKL has **guidelines** for reviews.

#### **What to Include in Your Review:**

✅ Your **opinion on the title** – what you liked or disliked.\

🚫 Profanity, hate speech, or offensive content.\
🚫 Spoilers without a **spoiler warning** (use `Spoiler=` tag).\
🚫 One-word or short reviews (minimum **5 lines** required).\
🚫 Promotional content, external links, or spam.\
🚫 ALL-CAPS writing (considered shouting).\
🚫 Reviews unrelated to the title (e.g., complaints about the site).

1. **Go to the Title’s Page** where you wrote the review.
2. **Find Your Review** in the Reviews section.
3. **Click on "Edit"** next to your review.
4. **Make Your Changes** and update your thoughts.
5. **Click "Save"** to update the review.

💡 **Note:** Editing is useful if you want to **fix typos, add new thoughts, or update your opinion** after watching more episodes!

To view all your reviews in one place:

2. Click on **"My Reviews"** in the profile menu.
3. Browse through all the reviews you’ve written.
4. Click on any review to view or edit it.

This allows you to **keep track of your past reviews** and revisit your thoughts on titles you've watched.

Yes! You can **follow users** whose reviews you enjoy and get notified when they post new ones.

1. **Click on a User’s Profile** from a review you like.
2. Click **"Follow"** on their profile page.
3. You will now be notified whenever the user publishes a review or comments.

You can enable **notifications for new reviews** by users you follow.

If someone **comments or replies** to your review, you will be notified.

* You will receive an **in-app notification** under the bell icon.
* You may also receive **email notifications** (if enabled).
* Click on the notification to **view the reply and respond.**

No, you can **only post one review per title**. However, you can **edit your review anytime** to update your thoughts.

### **8. Can I delete my review?**

Yes, you can **delete** your review if you no longer want it visible.

* Click on **“Delete”** next to your review.
* Confirm deletion.

## **9. Can I write reviews for old movies and shows?**

Yes! You can **write reviews for any movie, TV show, or anime**, regardless of its release date.

### **10. Are my reviews public? Can my reviews be private?**

Yes, all reviews on SIMKL are **public** and can be read by anyone.  You can also hide your reviews, or private your profile as well!
