Different Ways to Track Your Progress on SIMKL

SIMKL provides seven methods for tracking progress. You can choose the one that best fits your viewing habits.

Method 1: Add Titles to Your Watchlist (Movies, TV Shows & Anime)

The easiest way to track progress is by adding content to your watchlist.

1. Click on “Add to Watchlist” on any title page.

2. Hover over the button to see options:

   • Watching

   • Plan to Watch

   • Completed

   • On Hold

   • Dropped

Once added, SIMKL automatically updates your progress based on your watching habits.

Method 2: Mark Episodes as Watched (TV Shows & Anime)

1. Visit the title’s episode list under the summary tab.

2. Click the gray circular button beside an episode to mark it as watched.

3. The button changes to a tick (✔) icon, confirming the episode is tracked.

Smart Bulk Marking for Binge-Watchers

When marking an episode, SIMKL offers:

• “Do you want to mark all previous episodes as watched?”

  • Yes – Marks all past episodes.

  • No – Keeps past episodes unchanged.

  • Never for this show – Disables the option for the show.

This helps binge-watchers track progress quickly without clicking each episode individually.

Method 8: Quick Bulk Mark Completed TV Shows & Anime (Improved)

SIMKL has introduced a powerful new upgrade for users who want faster and cleaner watch history management, the ability to bulk mark episode-based titles as completed, while accurately reflecting progress through individual episode checkmarks.

What Is This Feature?

When you mark a show or anime as "Completed," SIMKL will now automatically backfill watch history by applying a watched timestamp to every individual episode, based on the show's completion date. Each episode will visually display a (✅) checkmark, giving a clearer overview of your actual progress.

This feature:

• Works for TV Shows, Anime, and other episode-based titles.

• Handles the logic of whether a title is fully completed or still airing.

• Assigns logical watch dates if none are manually entered.

How It Works

1. Open a show or anime you've completed.

2. Mark the title as “Completed” using the right panel.

3. SIMKL automatically:

   • Marks all episodes as watched.

   • Uses the show’s end date to assign timestamps.

   • Displays checkmarks per episode in the interface.

4. If the show is still airing or not officially ended by the network, the status will display as “Watching” instead — even if you’ve seen every episode so far. But rest assured, your progress is saved.

5. Want to manually remove a few episodes from your history? Just uncheck them — timestamps will auto-update in the background.

• If the show is officially ended or cancelled, SIMKL will display it as “Completed” after bulk marking.

• If the show is still airing (even if all current episodes are watched), it will be displayed as “Watching”.

• This allows dynamic tracking while keeping your history accurate and up-to-date.

Method 9: Quick Update from Dashboard (Fastest Way to Mark Episodes as Watched)

How It Works

While on your Profile Dashboard, simply hover your mouse over any show or anime listed under My List (Your recent ongoing shows and premieres, sorted by last aired)

The episode is instantly marked as watched, and your profile stats are updated as well.
