# Watch Party With Friends

Watching movies with friends is more fun than going it alone.

Simkl’s **Watch With Friends** feature lets you easily compare your “Plan to Watch” and “Watched” lists with up to **three** friends and discover titles you all want to see.

Whether you’re planning a movie night or just want to see what’s on everyone’s radar, this interactive tool makes group selection effortless and engaging.

## How It Works

### 1. Select Friends

1. Go to [**https://simkl.com/friends/house/**](https://simkl.com/friends/house/).
2. Click **Select friends**.
3. In the pop-up, choose up to **three** friends from your Simkl list.
4. Confirm by clicking **Add** under each avatar.

> **Tip:** Use the **Quick select** sidebar to pick recent groups of friends more easily.

### 2. Explore “Plan to Watch” Titles

Once friends are selected, the page shows movies in your collective **Plan to Watch** lists that none of you have seen yet.

* **Avatars on Posters**\
  Each movie poster displays the avatars of friends who have that title on their “Plan to Watch” list.

### 3. Apply Filters

Use the filters at the top to refine collective selections:

* **Released on DVD/Digital**: Show only titles available to buy or stream.
* **No DVD**: Filter out digital titles.
* **In Theaters**: Focus on current theatrical releases.
* **Last 2 Years**: Highlight recent films.
* **All**: Remove all filters to see the full list.

> **Pro Tip:** Combine filters (e.g., **In Theaters + Last 2 Years**) to find the newest popular releases.

### 4. Pick Your Movie

1. Scroll through the curated list to find a movie everyone is excited about.
2. Click the movie poster to open its details page.
3. On the details page, you can:
   * **Rate** it if you’ve already seen it.
   * **Add Memo** for group notes (e.g., snack ideas).
   * **Add to Favorites** to mark for quick access.

### 5. Share & Start Watching

* At the top of the page, click **SHARE** to copy your unique watch-room link.
* Send the link via chat or social media so friends can revisit group selections anytime.
* Use the list as your official group “watch together” lineup!

## Use Case Scenarios

* **Movie Night Planning**\
  Select friends A, B, and C. Filter by **In Theaters**. Choose a film none of you have seen yet. Share the room link and head to the theater!
* **Virtual Watch Party**\
  During a long-distance hangout, pick up to three friends. Find a **Last 2 Years** title on all your “Plan to Watch” lists. Stream it simultaneously and chat via text.
