# Forgot Your SIMKL Password?

Losing access to your account can be stressful, but Simkl makes it easy to reset your password and get back to tracking your favorite shows and movies.

Follow the guide below to quickly regain access to your Simkl account.

### How to Change Your Simkl Password

1. **Go to the SIMKL Passport Login Page**

* Go to <https://passport.simkl.com/login/> and enter your existing credentials.
* *Forgot your password?* Click **Lost Password** and follow the recovery steps to set a new one before proceeding.

2. **Enter Your SIMKL Username or Email**

* In the **Forgot your password?** form, enter the **exact** SIMKL username or the **email address** registered to your SIMKL account.
* Click **Reset Password**.

3. **Check Your Email for a Restore Link**

* Within a few minutes, SIMKL will send an email from **<support@simkl.com>** with the subject “**Password restore from Simkl, step 1**.”
* Open that email and click the provided **restore link.**

4. **Receive a Temporary Password**

* After clicking the link, SIMKL will generate and email you a **temporary password**.
* You’ll receive a second email titled “**Your new Simkl password**” containing:
  * Your **login** (username or email)
  * Your **temporary password**

5. **Log In with the Temporary Password**

* Return to the SIMKL Passport login page.
* Enter your username/email and the **temporary password** you just received.
* Click **Sign In**.

6. **Change to a Strong Permanent Password**

Once logged in, immediately update your password to something secure:

1. Click the **⚙️ gear icon** at the top of the page and select **Login Settings**.
2. Under **Change Password**, type:
   * Your **temporary password** (for current password)
   * Your **new password** (choose a strong one)
   * **Confirm** the new password
3. Click **Save** to finalize.

> **Tip:** Use a unique passphrase with letters, numbers & symbols (e.g., `MfT&Jsmafffe1ad`) to keep your account secure.
