Simkl provides an option to clean your watch history to zero using https://simkl.com/settings/login/clean-or-delete/
To be on the safe side make sure to create backups using https://simkl.com/apps/backup/ before importing any data. So you can restart as if nothing happened if you mess up the import.
Yes, you can import from multiple platforms. By default, in most cases, Simkl will skip importing items that are already in your Simkl watch lists.
Remove the extension from the browser and reinstall it. (https://simkl.com/apps/chrome/)
Restart your browser. (Make sure you close all tabs or anything running in background)
Make sure you have allowed the site access.
Make sure you have connected and enabled Netflix & Crunchyroll
Simkl supports CSV and JSON import using the SIMKL format.
You cannot import random CSV files not formatted the Simkl way. So make sure your CSV file for example has column headers with titles as described in the Simkl import format as described at at the bottom of the page.
Depending on where you import the process can take less than a few seconds or a few minutes when importing a large watch history from Netflix for example.
Yes, you can import your watch history from Netflix and Crunchyroll using Simkl's Chrome extension https://simkl.com/apps/chrome/enhancer/
Importing watch history from Hulu, Disney+, Amazon Prime, and HBO MAX is not currently supported because those services do not have a page with a watch history and do not provide any APIs to be able to do that.
If you find a webpage or api for one of those services where we can have access to watch history, please let us know so we can build a tool to import those.
Keep in mind that although Amazon Prime has some watch history is incorrect and contains shows and movies as watched even if you just watched a trailer or a few seconds of it. For that reason we are not able to import such data as it will result in incorrect watch history data.
By default all Simkl profiles are public and everyone can see your watchlists and imported data.
You have the option to make your profile and watchlists private in Privacy Settings.
Simkl has never sold and will never sell personal identifiable information without you agreeing to it. (With the legal exception of service transfer to another company in case of acquisition). See full details privacy info at https://simkl.com/about/policies/privacy/
All watchlists are by default not private by the nature of the service and visible to all your friends and Simkl members, etc.
You have the option to make your profile private in privacy settings https://simkl.com/settings/privacy/
Custom Lists have options to make the list Private or Unlisted from the discovery sections.
All movies in your Watchlist marked "Adult" are by default hidden from other members looking at your Watchlist.
In case you find any bugs with privacy or any ideas on how to improve it, make sure to notify the Simkl developers immediately.
Simkl provides an option to clean or delete the account automatically.
Clicking on external links going out of the website is not the subject of Simkl's privacy policy and is operated by the policy of that website once you interact with their content, as they can trace your referral which may include your profile IDs.
In most cases, we will skip importing items that are already on your watch lists. Importing data will not delete any episodes marked as watched on Simkl.
Coming Soon!
On todo in V2 Custom list settings. ()
In case you cannot format your file and import using the CSV import option https://simkl.com/apps/import/csv/ and if the service you are coming from has the option to export your watch history, we can try to build an importer. DM us on Discord with the sample of the export file that you would like to import.
