Helping to build and maintain Simkl’s database is a community-driven effort. Contributors can earn recognition by adding missing external IDs (MAL, AniDB, TMDb) and reporting incorrect matches.

What Is the Contributor Leaderboard?

The Contributor Leaderboard showcases the top Simkl users who have added or validated the most external IDs and recaps. Leaderboard positions are determined by the total number of approved contributions:

• MAL Approved: MyAnimeList IDs you’ve correctly added

• AniDB Approved: AniDB IDs you’ve correctly added

• TMDb Approved: TMDb IDs you’ve correctly added

• Netflix Approved: Netflix entries you’ve contributed

How to Contribute

1. Add MAL (MyAnimeList) IDs

• Page: /apps/connect-id/ → Add MAL IDs

• What to Do:

  1. Locate a Simkl anime entry without a MAL link.

2. Add AniDB IDs

• Page: /apps/connect-id/mal/ → Add AniDB IDs

• What to Do:

  1. Open the MAL page you linked earlier.

3. Add TMDb (The Movie Database) IDs

• Page: /apps/connect-id/tv/ → Add TMDB IDs

• What to Do:

  1. Find a Simkl TV show without a TMDb link.

Approving & Reporting Incorrect Matches

After you submit an ID, moderators check the match:

• Approve: Click the green Approve button if the suggested URL is correct.

• Report as Incorrect: Click the gray Report as Incorrect button if the URL does not correspond to the Simkl entry.

Your approval contributes positively to the leaderboard; reporting incorrect entries cleans up the database.
